- There may have been a fearful element to Dad's character, as well as a concern for safety

- Dad's Prior History with Della
- Dad possibly first met Della when they were kids, or at least knew about her as a child
- They could have met in school, through a program, or an organization, like The Junior Woodchucks
- However they acknowledged the other, it's not likely that Dad and Della were close
- They could have seen each other around from time to time
- They could have potentially lost contact until they were adults
- It's very likely that Dad knew of Della's adventures and became a big fan of hers
- If the reboot was going to base LP's past on what happened in the original show, he could have self-evicted or ran away from home as a teen
- Either out of embarrassment, a desire to make a name for himself, or some kind of dispute with his family
- As an adult, Dad may have been under a persona other than himself, whether it be one he made up or he was pretending to be someone else
- Dad could have unknowingly applied to an evil company with plans to make him spy on The McDuck Family, steal something from them, or bring great harm to them
- Dad did something extraordinary to catch Della's attention; possibly through a misunderstanding where he did it accidentally or outside of his own doing
- Della became interested in him because of it and caused Dad to keep up the charade for her approval
- Maybe he claimed to be some combination of pilot, adventurer and businessman, much like Della and Scrooge themselves
- Maybe he performed a heroic deed by accident, involving her or someone else, and this caused her to see him as a hero
Pre-Spear, Dating Era (PreSp-DE)
- Dad and Della started dating and became a couple
- Dad's real self might have shone through his false persona the deeper their relationship got
- Della's positive response to this could have made him wonder if he should tell her the truth about himself
- Their relationship was very likely to have been secretive
- Perhaps Dad came up with excuses to get him out of adventuring / meeting her family so he could protect himself from getting exposed as a fraud
- Like claiming to be busy or that he wasn't ready to be introduced yet
- Della could have told at least one person about her boyfriend, like Donald or Gyro
- A more impressive and experienced rival possibly appeared later on in their relationship and caused Dad to feel threatened
- He might have double-down on his lying or did something drastic to keep Della's approval
- Something caused a separation between Dad and Della, either due to his rival or another misunderstanding
- Then Dad went missing in an incident involving Space travel
- This could have been against his will, but it looks like he left on purpose
- He could have found out about F.O.W.L.'s plans against the McDuck Family and was prevented from warning them
- He possibly left Earth in a vehicle that complemented the Spear of Selene
- It could have been predominantly green to match up with the Spear's red
- It could have been very fast, with an unusual energy source
- It's very likely that there was something dangerously unstable about this vehicle
- Perhaps the vehicle had a face or logo on it to match up with Scrooge's dollar sign
- This vehicle was likely stolen before it was officially ready to be used
- Somewhere in this, Della found out that she was expecting
- Dad may not have known about this
- Perhaps Della wanted to tell him, but he never answered her calls or messages
- And perhaps he was afraid to answer because he thought she was breaking up with him
- Della starts researching where Dad could have gone
- Maybe she also found out more about him in the process
- Like Glomgold, maybe the records on his false persona didn't go back very far
- If she didn't already know from the start, maybe this is where she found out about Dad working for an evil company
- This could have prevented her from telling her family about him, they wouldn't want to save him if he appeared to be a bad guy
- In spite of the way things looked, it's likely that Della still had hope that Dad's love for her wasn't part of an act
- And that maybe he wasn't all that bad of a guy
- Perhaps Della finds evidence that Dad could have been forced to leave
- She could have originally thought that he didn't want to be a father and was running away from his responsibilities
- A big reason as to why Della wanted to find him, could have been to get answers
- Who was he really?
- Did he know the company was evil?
- Why did he lie to her?
- If he isn't a true villain, she could have thought that he was worth saving and being a part of her family
- Perhaps Dad vaguely lamented about family and how he felt like he didn't belong in his
- Maybe Della made some sort of promise about never abandoning him or how he would always be welcomed in her family
- Once she was given an idea of where he went, Della started planning her trip to Space
- Della shared her rocket proposal with Scrooge and Donald, focusing on wanting to "give [HDL] the stars" and probably emphasized the uncharted adventure aspect rather than meeting up with anyone
- Donald thought it was too dangerous, and argued with Della about taking care of the kids
- If Donald knew about her true intentions, maybe Della was offended that Donald didn't want to at least try to help another member of their family
- If not, maybe Della was offended that Donald didn't trust her about the safety of the rocket and the importance of the trip
- Maybe he didn't believe her when it came to the Space location(s) they'd have to go to
- Perhaps there was something fabled or too vast about this area, and he felt like it would be a waste of time
- Della eventually found out about Scrooge getting the Spear built through something Bradford said
- This could have caused her to re-adjust her plans into traveling alone
- This could have included preparing her notes to Scrooge and Donald
- Dad may have traveled to a mysterious location after his vehicle entered a portal
- This could have been a doorway to another dimension
- If so, perhaps time works in a way where a shorter duration there, would be much longer on Earth
- If Della later ended up on the Moon, perhaps this location has something to do with the Sun
- While in this location, Dad met a hidden society
- They could be hidden either because of the dimension not being easy to access, they live underground or both
- Maybe Dad soon finds out that he can't leave this realm unless a challenge of some sort is completed
- He could have been imprisoned or trapped to ensure he participates
- He could have been competing against a jealous antagonist
- Perhaps the civilians were more fascinated by Dad due to him living in a world much drastic than theirs or that maybe that he seemed to line up with some type of prophecy they were waiting on
- Perhaps going through this challenge, gave Dad some of the experience he needed to be closer to what he had claimed to be
- Maybe the adventure taught him how to pilot a spaceship, and in turn, a submarine
- Dad found a way to leave, but not without some kind of destruction in his wake
- There's a possibility that Dad was at fault for causing the storm to start, either by activating a curse or something having to do with the potential antagonist
- This character could have been trying to sabotage his departure, like through a cursed item or sent a monster to chased after him
- There's a chance that Dad's story has something to do with shapeshifters, so, maybe the antagonist transformed into an unsuspecting item Dad had left with or personally chased after him as a monster
- The storm could have derived from a war or a fight that Dad used as an opportunity to leave
- Or that maybe there's some type of cave-in element to it
Cosmic Storm Era (CSE)
- Dad could have contacted Della in the cosmic storm as he was leaving the portal
- It was more than likely a call for help because of the supposed monster that was attacking him in his vehicle
- Though it is possible that he could have been trying to warn her about F.O.W.L. before monster started to attack him
- Perhaps there might be room for Bradford to have been listening in on this message and found a way to interfere with it
- Della may have received his distress call, but it might not have come in clear enough for her to make sure it was really him
- She could have just assumed this and took the rocket earlier than expected to save him
- This could have happened not long after the photo Scrooge had taken in front of The Spear
- As Della entered the storm, Dad and Monster may have been higher up in the clouds, racing in the opposite direction
- This could explain why she wasn't able to see them ahead
- Perhaps there were separate portals to entering and exiting the dimension
- Could there have been a change in size between dimensions? Could they somehow have been too small to see at first?
- The struggle with the monster, may have caused Dad to be separated from his vehicle
- If the monster was on the outside, it could have broken in and pulled him outside of it
- If the monster was on the inside, a window could have broken, or the hatch was opened
- Depending, this could have been how Dad was exposed to the chemicals in the storm
- It's very likely that he started to become sick because of this
- If Della was trying to save Dad, the mayday she sent in The Spear was less likely to be for herself
- This could have been either a response to his call or to alert others that she needed additional help with her rescue
- Could she have been doing a mayday relay on his behalf?
- In real life, "mayday" is supposed to be said three times before the rest of the call, but for some reason in fiction, it's only stated twice
- Because of this, it's less likely that "relay" would be used
- It could have also been excluded to protect the mystery from being spoiled
- If Gyro knew about Della having a boyfriend and was let in on her plans, she could have been relying on him to be at the control center to help guide her in her mission
- Scrooge responded to her mayday, but Della may not have expected this
- Could there have been a communication issue where the call got delayed?
- She was told to turn around when she was already in the storm
- This signified that she could have avoided it
- This could have surprised Della and distracted her from staying focused
- The lightning bolt that struck the Spear, may have also struck Dad and Monster too
- While the Spear fell towards the Moon, Dad could have fallen back to Earth
- The vehicle Dad had, could have also fallen back to Earth, but may not have survived re-entry
- Dad's return to Earth may have been mistaken by others as a space rock
- After Della's crash-landing on the Moon, Dad possibly crashed into a frigid environment
- If he was frozen in ice, it could have carried him off to an island where it melted
- The impact from the whole Space ordeal gave him amnesia and allowed for a more authentic persona to emerge
- The name "Launchpad" could have come from his faint memories of Space
- Or a possible nickname
- Or a persona he created during his childhood
- It's very possibly that the cosmic storm left him with special abilities
- Some degree of immortality, quick healing
- A high tolerance for pain
- Aquatic respiration
- Electrical manipulation / generation
- Abnormal strength
- His appearance could have become drastically different from the last time Della saw him
- His amnesia, being frozen or both could have had an effect on his age
- He could have forgot his true age
- Maybe he used to be much closer in age to Della, but being frozen set him back a little
- Launchpad can't remember Della, his family or getting lost because of how these things could have been tied to very stressful emotions
- This could have left him with a lot of memories of his favorite comfort show, Darkwing Duck
- While Della struggled to get back home from the Moon, Launchpad slowly made his way back to Duckburg, one adventure at a time
- It's possible that LP, unknowingly, could have been trying to get back to Della and her family
- It's very possible that he was subconsciously reminded of her through the dates he had along the way
- Ten years later, Launchpad got hired as Scrooge's chauffeur after Duckworth's death
- He soon became his pilot after teaming-up with the family to defeat Pixiu
- When Della was brought up in "Last Crash", Launchpad behaved rather strangely
- Scrooge's vague mention of her, left him quiet and hesitant
- It seemed as if he became doubtful that Scrooge's plan would work, even after he saved him from falling out of the plane, but perhaps he wanted to ask who Scrooge was talking about
- There could have been something happening subconsciously that made him worried
- Launchpad didn't personally way in about her decision to take The Spear, he was much more focused on trying to warn everyone about the upcoming crash
- This drew attention to himself as everyone was blaming Scrooge
- The plane also began to tip to Launchpad's side
- Launchpad was nowhere to be seen after the family moved out of the mansion
- Even Duckworth was seen leaving!
- This emphasized how alone Scrooge was at this moment
- Even in "Shadow War" after LP showed awareness about what was said in Scrooge's explanation behind Della's disappearance, he still doesn't weigh in
- He repeated how the boys blamed Scrooge for it
- LP was the first to check in on Scrooge after three days
- Launchpad was the most tense and worried over Donald and the boys leaving
- If Launchpad was a former latchkey kid, it's very odd for him to not express an opinion on a situation that resembled child abandonment

Present
- About a year after Launchpad was hired, Della comes back from the Moon and meets him in the houseboat the next day
- Because of how the storm could have changed him, she doesn't recognize LP
- She also may think that Dad is dead or gone forever, so, that makes it even harder for her to figure out who he is
- Della thinks that Scrooge purposely replaced her while she was gone and this gives her a chip on her shoulder that she continues to have when it comes to him
- Launchpad may not recognize Della even more so with her longer hair, robot leg and grumpy attitude
- He canβt remember her as a person, but somewhere deep in his subconscious, he could remember certain aspects of her as well as their previous time together
- Wanting to impress her in "Coot", could have come from wanting to impress her before
- After Della's return, there are two instances where LP feels guilty for causing a dangerous event to happen
- Both of these instances are extremely likely to be hinting at him being involved with The Spear incident
- Both take place at night with an emphasis on The Moon and clouds
- Both have an element of a misunderstanding
- Both deal with scary beings being released due to entering a dimension doorway of some kind
- In "Trickening", Launchpad believes that Halloween is a monster curse he unleashed on Duckburg in his past
- It's an annual occurrence, which makes it feel prophetic
- There are moments that suggest that Launchpad has something to do with the Moon
- In "Dangerous", Launchpad blames himself for the Darkwing Duck villains entering their world
- He thinks it's because of him constantly wishing the show was real
- As time goes on, Della learns to appreciate Launchpad a little more than when they first met, but still doesn't think all that highly of him
- She doesn't mind him enough to playing video games with him and sticking to her word about giving him fly lessons
- In spite of her having a tendency to show irritation or rudeness towards him, Launchpad doesn't seem to think negatively about Della
- Launchpad has never called Della by her first name, only "Ms. Dee"
- This could be derived from his difficulty to remember her

Future
- Launchpad will have to do something impressive to capture Della's attention and change her mind about him
- This could very much allow for her to develop romantic feelings
- If she's mourning the loss of Dad, Della may be extremely resistant to allowing herself to feel this way about Launchpad
- Launchpad and Della may grow closer after this
- Della may notice some things about Launchpad that remind her of Dad and the longer LP spends with Della, there may be a point where he starts to remember things about her
- Both are bound to be confused by this and may try not to think much of it
- There's a good chance that Dad's case may be revisited
- Further research could be done on him to discover something Della might have missed
- Della may open up about Dad and her true intentions with the Spear, whether it be to Launchpad or the kids
- There's a possibility that the monster in the cosmic storm is still alive and may have also fallen to Earth after the lightning strike
- If this is true, it's very likely that the creature is seeking revenge on LP or both of the pilots
- Monster could have gone through other similar experiences to Dad
- Prevented from getting back to them faster due to being frozen or concealed somewhere
- Different appearance?
- If the monster is a shapeshifter, could it be unable to return to a more powerful form?
- Could it be due to amnesia?
- If the creature isn't roaming the Earth, it could be trapped in another dimension or sent back to the one it came from, slowly but surely figuring out a way to get to Earth
- If Future!LP still has a chance of showing up in a DuckTales continuation, there could be another world-ending disaster similar to the cosmic storm and the Ramrod's use at The Library of Alexandria
- This event could be brought on by the monster initiating its revenge on Launchpad and maybe Della as well
- He potentially finds out something about Dad taking a Space vehicle that causes him to hesitate when he's transported back in time
- He may also see something positive happen between his current self and Della
- Della might make a discovery about Launchpad that finally helps her to realize he's Dad
- If he's here when this happens, he's most likely to deny this, get overwhelmed by the thought of it, and might even run away when the family needs him most
- It's safe to say that LP doesn't want to be responsible for causing such a catastrophic mess
- If he's Dad, then he hurt Della and her family more than once
- Launchpad doesn't want to be a bad person, he wants to be seen as a hero
- LP wouldn't be able to understand how he could be someone other than himself
- Maybe Della will be able to find him after this and help him come to terms with this enough to help turn things around
- Maybe civilians of the hidden society also come to Earth
- Perhaps they have a situation that is reflective to what Della's was with Dad where the monster is actually long-lost member of their group that they've been trying to bring back home?
- Could they reveal important information about Dad's time in their realm?
- Could they help to further confirm it's him and prove he wasn't truly a bad guy?
- It's possible that The McDuck Family would have a team up with the civilians and others to take the monster down
- Depending, it might not ultimately be a physical fight that does it, but through understanding, like Della did when she discovered the maternal similarity she shared with the moon mite
- Once the destruction is over, it's very likely that the civilians will go back home to their own dimension
- After such a big, life-changing event, it's extremely likely that Launchpad and Della will share a kiss
- Launchpad could soon be reintroduced as the boys' father, and the family works out any feelings that they'll have about this
- If Launchpad and Della decide to be a couple again, the next step is learning how to be parents together
- The rest of the family will also learn how to adjust to this development
- When it comes to the boys, it may be the hardest for Huey, but he will eventually come around, similarly to Louie with Della's return
