My first initial reaction to this was that Launchpad could meet actual ghosts, but now I’m thinking something more along the lines of “Neverrest” or “Terror” where the threat in LP’s part of the story isn’t as big as it seems.
It looks a lot like he could be at a haunted attraction in this scene, so while he’s there, maybe he’s under the belief that the actors involved are actual ghosts...?

I think this episode foreshadowed the original plan for s3 and extended the spear story
