Season 3 Intro Speculation!

A new season of DuckTales means we might see some alterations to the show’s intro. Season 2’s intro had a couple of minor changes; one of which was replacing Lil’ Bulb with Gizmoduck during the "lasers" segment of the theme song. Now that Della is back and a major arc for Season 3 has become established, we might be able to expect a little more.

Here are a few things I think will be most likely to change:

In “The Golden Armory of Cornelius Coot!” it’s suggested that LP and Della are going to start working together as a co-pilot team. The “aeroplanes” visual of the theme song could end up getting completely re-animated to reflect this. Normally, the Sunchaser has two seats and two yokes, but in the intro, there is only one of each and the control board is less detailed.

Instead of the engines smoking, maybe it could be Della or both of them doing an aerial stunt together. After acknowledging the audience, maybe Della catches Launchpad off guard by sending the plane into a hard turn or something to match up with him getting distracted in the original scene.

Another change I thought about was the Sunchaser possibly getting replaced with Launchpad flying the Thunderquack since the season will lean a little more into sharing a universe with Darkwing Duck, but I feel like this is less likely to happen. It doesn’t represent DT as well as having a scene with the Sunchaser, but I still believe we could expect something DWD related to be inserted somewhere.

I think we could definitely expect something F.O.W.L related being represented during the villain panels. In Season 2, Big Time Beagle was replaced by Magica. For Season 3, someone might be swapped out for a F.O.W.L agent or they could take up the entirety of the background.

I’m a little doubtful of this, but maybe we can expect a villain or two to get swapped out of the logo crash scene; like Lil’ Bulb or Gabby McStabberson.

This version of Lil’ Bulb hasn’t reappeared since his debut and as seen in “Moonvasion!”, Gabby is no longer a bad guy. (Which is some pretty dang cool character development.)

I love how the show’s intro is used to determine not only which season an episode comes from but also how long an episode might be and what type of episode we can expect. I can’t wait to see what other interesting variations we’ll get in the future!

Della appearing, especially in the plane scene, was inevitable
But she did appear more than I thought she would
Nothing was reanimated, most things stayed the same

The classic and reboot intros are so good
