Della Duck Be Like:

While Della is one of my favorite DT characters, I can totally see why there are still people who don't like her and continue to caller her a bad mom.

Every time she's placed in a situation that resembles The Spear of Selene, she doesn't seem to have learned anything from it. Which is...strange for a character you want to redeem from supposedly making a terrible, selfish decision. She had a whole decade of aftermath to humble herself. Why didn't this prompt Della to catch herself earlier instead of slipping right back into bad habits? If you want to make this kind of character more likeable, wouldn't having them act differently in these similar situations, to show the audience how much they've matured, make more sense...?

 

This is why I can't get myself to believe she took the Spear on a whim. 

The fact that the writers made her act like this THREE times too many, and that there are a multitude of other things going up against Scrooge's flashback narrative...really feels like the writers were trying to tell us that Della had a good reason behind her Space trip that she wasn't being outward about...but then something about the cancellation caused them to keep it in the background of Season 3 instead of revealing it. 😕

della is a better character than people realize and now there may not be another chance to clear her name...
