In his usual comic book depictions, Flintheart is a South African. But when it came to adapting some of Carl Bark's work in the first DuckTales series, he was changed to be another Scotsman. It wasn't until the 2017 reboot of the series, did Glomgold have an animated counterpart, that regained part of his original identity. In Season 2 of the series, the third episode picks up from a scene in "The Shadow War!" where Glomgold falls into the marina after an encounter with his shadow coming to life. Through amnesia, it is revealed that Glomgold was a shoeshine from South Africa. His real name is "Duke Baloney", borrowed from another comics character who was titled as Second Richest Duck before Flintheart's official debut.
Scrooge met Duke as a child and offered to be a customer at his shoeshine station. But when it came to payment, Scrooge ripped him off with an American dime. Rightly frustrated by this stunt, Duke swore to become richer and more Scottish than Scrooge will ever be.

Oh, yeah, this site used to be about "Delpad", the couple name for the romantic pairing of Della Duck and Launchpad McQuack from the DT17 reboot of DuckTales. But I changed my mind. Sorry. π
