5 / 19: Both lists of anniversary updates are now completed! (Part 1) (Part 2)

For the past few-ish years, I've been doing an art challenge where I focus on posting pieces on designated dates. This year, I wanted to draw each triplet doing something with Launchpad for Father's Day. Unfortunately...I was not able to get everything together in time; this is an edited post.

But I'm still completing them anyway! ✍🏾😀

I wanted to showcase the similarities between LP and the boys since I'm sure they're often overlooked. Out of all the triplets, his similarities with Dewey are the most apparent...which is funny, since Dewey's the triplet most often compared to Della. 😏🀭 I picked up on similarities pretty early on in my second "Association" essay and point out how their friendship could be leading up to a Della connection.

Both Launchpad and Dewey have done things that would fall under being "tougher than the toughies". They aren't seen as the smartest in the group, they're pilots (sorta) who tend to crash, Dewey became a fan of Launchpad's favorite TV show, they're both musically talented, and depending on what the ballet reminder LP had on calendar in "Trickening" means, they both like to dance too.

Like I've mention before, Launchpad's name has been Turbo McKwek in the Dutch dub of DuckTales, ever since the original show. And to have Dewey over emphasizing how his name could have been Turbo, along with Huey almost sharing LP's Italian dub name, this all feels VERY intentional...Hearing these names in "Nothing Can" was one of the things that helped me get back on track with my Bio Launchdad theory.

Additionally, there were a couple of formulaic episodes, one for each season, that heavily suggested that LP and Dewey would get one in the third. Really wish we could have seen that...πŸ˜•

I normally ink these art challenge drawings with brush marker, but I wanted to do something little different this time: I digitalized the lines, print them out to color traditionally, and placed the digital lines on top of that. And while I did mainly use colored pencils, I decided to make use of my gel pens too, since I never use them. πŸ˜… That was another thing that didn't go as well as I planned...either they were never filled up properly at all, or they REALLY dried out. 😬 I tried using one of the for keytar, but had to give up and pencil over it...

Yeah, I know, I colored LP's Quack Pack boots wrong. His pupils might also be too big too. Both sets of hands probably don't match up very well with the other...I tried. ┐(´γƒΌ`)┌

But in spite of its flaws, I still really do like this! I could redo or fix these things if I ever decide to do fully digitally. Right now, I gotta keep moving. πŸƒπŸΎ‍♀️

On to the next pieces...
